I get it. Everybody needs somebody to blame. But arguing that “boomers” are responsible for the dysfunctional society that you see today is taking the short view of it. Generations are not static; they flow from one to the next, each carrying its inherited traits while creating new ones. Each generation looks back with nostalgia and forward with fear; always have, always will. The “Greatest Generation”, for all its merits, turned itself into the first generation of ‘consumers’ virtually overnight. And their children – the “Boomers” – learned from that.

No, the current ‘decline’ in American society (or any other one throughout recorded history) can be laid squarely at the feet of “progress”. Once we created a government too large to be controlled we sealed our fate. Every step since has been one more down the road to ruin.

But fear not, “Gen X-ers” and “Millenials”. ‘The Great Reset’ may well not turn out the way the PTB intend. And you and your children wil have the arduous yet enjoyable task of rebuilding a society. I wish you well. Read lots of history … if you can find any remaining.
